The leaves have changed color and it’s getting cold outside. Guess it’s time for a Steam Sale!
Grab some games at a discounted price to play instead of being in the cold. Here at Indie Games Plus, we have selected a bunch of games for you to check out.
Vidar – 25% off at $7.49
Every character has a relationship with another, and your actions and the Beast’s murders will start chipping away at those relationships. A cowardly guard may change his behavior if his local hero dies in the caves. Quests might shift focus if the giver of the quest moves on or dies. Random events add to this simulation as well, ranging from an outbreak of disease to deadly floods. Every playthrough, victims are chosen at random, meaning every game will feature a new story of loss and shifting relationships.
Fidel Dungeon Rescue – 50% off at $4.99
Fidel Dungeon Rescue presents itself as a cute puzzle-crawler with an adorable protagonist. At a glance, it may look too simple, but the game will pose tricky rooms to put players to the test. Right at the start, players will be given the limitation of a leash, one that can grow long over the path you take, but you cannot cross over it! This may pose as a serious problem in some levels, but if players find themselves stuck, they can simply rewind their mistakes and rethink their path.
Purchase Fidel Dungeon Rescue.
Neofeud – 50% off at $7.49
Come to think of it, none of Neofeud’s characters are really likeable. But then, there’s little room for being a good person when the world around you is messed up, I guess. Still, this is an ambitious, atmospheric cyberpunk scenario and essentially the work of a single person (voice acting excluded). Oh, and it might also be one of the best adventure games I have played in a while, so there’s that.
Donut County – 20% off at $10.39
Dropping things down a hole seems like a funny premise, but how long could that stay fun for? Even if you throw in some funny raccoons, tossing stuff in a pit can only be fun for so long. Donut County offers some more interesting ideas with hole growth, combinations, and some other delightful elements that will make you want to keep tossing stuff in there.

Doctor Kvorak’s Obliteration Game – 76% off at $4.80
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZO9LGaxZ0A
In order to win wonderful prizes and avert horrible tragedy, you have to puzzle your way through fifteen increasingly harder levels full of traps, levers, boxes, and various doodads to collect. You can also pick up some weird artefacts which allow you to dress up, because who wouldn’t like to save the world with a traffic cone or a sombrero on their head?
Purchase Doctor Kvorak’s Obliteration Game.
Love Is Dead – 34% off at $7.91
Your job is to ensure that the pair get across some dangerous locations safely, moving through graveyards, volcanoes, and art galleries (which can be KINDA dangerous) as you help this loving pair of corpses get back to their animals. Coming back from the dead to snuggle your pets is a far better reason to revive than brain-eating, isn’t it?
Hacktag – 50% off at $9.99
There is quite an intricate story to uncover, but even the standard missions you’ll be taking on in between story missions can feel pretty exciting. They supply you with experience which unlocks new skills, as well as cosmetic items which let you dress up your anthropomorphic animal agents some more. This is elegantly handled and a whole lot of fun – especially when you’re able to directly communicate with your co-op partner.
Claybook – 70% off at $4.50
In order to solve Claybook’s puzzles, you may have to take on all sorts of shapes, like that of a rectangle to form a bridge and cross a river of blue clay. The shapes you can take on can range from a standard ball of clay all the way to a rocket ship! If you’re worried about not hitting the perfect landing, you can rewind time so that you can try your approach again.
Empathy: Path of Whispers – 75% off at $4.99
Empathy: Path of Whispers lets you explore its quiet halls and streets, choosing how they wish to look around and what they want to do. As you wander, you’ll find elements you can manipulate, or pocket places you can explore, learning the game’s back story by watching it happen and experience it for yourself. As you piece together what happened through the various fragments you choose to chase down, you may just be able to stop the events that made all of the people go away.
Purchase Empathy: Path of Whispers.
The Letter – 40% off at $11.99
One of the biggest drawing points of The Letter is the gut-wrenching, but impressive, art style. The images aren’t static either – characters will move and change position if the situation calls for it. There’s also movement present in the backgrounds, which breathes life into the visual novel. The Letter is a huge game, offering branching choices, relationships and quick time events (that are optional for players who may not enjoy the pressure of QTEs).
MidBoss – 67% off at $4.95
MidBoss‘ death cards, which are earned upon death or beating the game, let players take that particular seed from a given generated run, allowing them to bring elements and items over into a new game to try again.
Super Chibi Knight – 50% off at $2.49
It captures a child’s wonder in its adventure, meeting danger with positivity and joy alongside determination. It’s wonderful to play as such an upbeat, happy hero in an industry so often filled with anti-heroes fighting over bleak landscapes. It’s cheery and focused on fun, providing entertaining combat that’s as simple or hard as you’d like it to be, and with all with many secrets to keep you coming back for more. You may never learn the name of the heroine of Super Chibi Knight, but I doubt anyone who plays it will soon forget her courage and voice.
Everspace – 70% off at $8.99
Combining intense dogfights inspired by Freespace, with the randomly generated thrills of the roguelite, Everspace drops your fighter into large environments to explore, scavenge, and fight: rocky planet rings, thick ice chunk fields, ship graveyards, amid orbiting stations and vessels. Your goal is to travel between jump gates, gathering fuel and fighting off foes while your jump recharges. Finding supply caches can provide you with powerful new weapons, abilities, and other loot to wield, and you’ll need them, as Everspace‘s battles are fast and relentless.
Tesla vs Lovecraft – 55% off at $6.75
Tesla vs Lovecraft is a pretty tough game overall. Thankfully, both temporary in-game upgrades (when you “level up” in a stage) and permanent improvements which can be bought on the world map make your life a bit easier. There’s a local co-op mode as well, which is always appreciated. Being a bit burned out on arena shooters, I didn’t really expect to enjoy this game as much as I did.
A Room Beyond – 20% off at $6.39
You can steadily figure out what is going on over the game’s five episodes, as well as get to know the populace (although don’t get too attached to everyone, what with lethal critters about), figure out your own place in it all, and hear a tale of spirituality along the way.
